Does Anyone Else Feel Bad For Barry Zito?

Sorry for the baseball kick I seem to be on today.  I don't really plan any of my posts.  They just pour on out of my mind and straight onto my computer.  My talent is my burden, people.
Anyway, Barry Zito lost again tonight, to make his record this season a measly 0-7 with a 6.95 ERA.  He only gave up 2 earned runs and one homer, but without an offense that can score very easily, he still got hit with the loss.  It's not a real good excuse, but the Giants really can't buy a run these days.  Their lack of offense was part of why Zito has lost 5 of his 7 games this season.  Who thinks 20 losses are on the horizon for Barry?  I don't think it'll get that bad, but who knows at the rate this season is going.  One thing is for sure, that Cy Young award back in 2002 seems a long, long time ago.

But at the end of the day, it's all Barry's fault.  Not for pitching like crap, but for signing a long term contract with the freaking San Francisco Giants!  Man, what was he thinking?  I don't care how much money the Giants want to pay me, I am not taking it!  (Who am I kidding, I would totally take it.)  But that $126 million dollar ship has already sailed.

By the way, the keywords in that last sentence are "$126 million dollar."  There is a good chance that Barry has $126 million different reasons not to mind all the criticism that gets tossed his way.

I just feel bad for the guy because Barry Zito is sort of like a hero to me.  I've always liked the dude.  I saw him pitch against the Mariners back when he was pitching in Oakland.  He won that game by the way.  And, c'mon, anyone who has dated Alyssa Milano for any amount of time automatically demands my respect and admiration.  In fact, he's dated Hilary Duff too, for crap's sake.  Wow.  Not bad Barry, not bad at all.
